Community Concerns Uganda Initiative (CCUg)
Community Concerns Uganda Initiative (CCUg) is a legally registered, women-led Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering women and girls through education, health, and skills development.
Founded in 2012, we now operate in six districts of in the Busoga sub-region: Jinja, Mayuge, Luuka, Namayingo, Buyende, and Kamuli.
Our approach begins with high-quality, participatory research in the communities we serve. We engage community members directly in identifying their own problems and aspirations. We work with them to generate locally grounded insights that shape every stage of project design. These findings inform the development of targeted, and community-owned programs that respond to specific needs and realities of our beneficiaries.
From health education to life skills training, every intervention is evidence-based and community-informed, providing a strong foundation for sustainable impact. Our projects are implemented through trusted, community-based channels that facilitate participation, accountability, and long-term engagement
We use a blended delivery model which includes mentorship, group sessions, classroom style learning and hands-on skills training to empower our beneficiaries mostly women and girls to sustainable income-generating activities. Where needed, we support implementation by constructing community spaces and providing essential materials resources to reinforce learning and impact.
